The Footman James Classic Car Show Manchester is now established as one of the biggest shows of its kind in the UK (certainly the biggest indoor classic show north of Birmingham). We’re keen to hear from all interested clubs. For all info about the show please have a look at the website (where you’ll find all the info you need, forms and lots of pics of the show) and the Facebook Page too (please hit the Like Button to stay in touch with the show on FB) etc.: Website: www.manchesterclassiccarshow.com Facebook:We try to accommodate as many clubs as possible and all are welcome to apply (whether you’re an national one-marque, or one-model club, or a regional section of a national club, or a regional multi-marque club). This is a show that thrives on scale and diversity therefore we’re always looking for a broad range of vintage, classic and retro cars to engage, enthral and delight the show visitors. If accepted, club space is free of charge. There are a few caveats (which I’ll just run through now to save any confusion further down the line – with apologies to our 100+ regular clubs who know this already!): Cars should generally be at least 20 years old (we like the broadest possible range of everything from really early horseless carriages, right through vehicles from all ‘motoring eras’). Cars must be IN by 9pm on the Friday (the odd early Sat entry sometimes possible depending on location in the halls) and then they can only leave after the show closes and it’s deemed safe for vehicle movement on the Sunday night, doors usually go up about 5.30pm (it’s not a show where members’ cars can come and go – once they’re in, they’re in). The club must have suitable public liability insurance (most clubs have this as a matter of course). Successful clubs get 2 x ‘people passes’ per car plus two for the organiser (if the stand organiser isn’t bringing their own car). There are a few more hoops to jump through, but nothing too taxing. We’re always trying to cut down on admin (for us too!). Space is limited by the dimensions of the building (so we can’t just ‘create more space’ later on). Attached is an application form in both Microsoft Word format, and PDF format. Please just use whichever suits you best/is easiest. We prefer to receive applications by email (fill in on your computer/tablet, save it then reply and add it as an attachment – or print it off, write it out and scan it/save it/reply and attach), but good old fashioned post is still absolutely fine if you prefer. The main thing is that (however it arrives) we get your club’s application in soon please, definitely before mid-March 2017. We compile entries received and make the first ‘round’ of space allocations in the spring, so if your club is interested in taking part, please get your application back to us sooner rather than later to ensure your club is in the mix.
